Anxiety Rocks APC As EFCC Charges Ize-Iyamu Over N700 Million Fraud
The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will appear in court today, Thursday, July 2 over an alleged N700 Million fraud as stated by the Economic Financial Crime Commission EFCC.
There has been anxiety in APC camp in Edo state as the party’s governorship candidate Ize-Iyamu has been charged for money laundering of over N700 Million, issued to him during the 2015 general election when he was in the opposition party, PDP.
Recall that Pastor Ize-Iyamu tussling for the Governorship position of Edo State with the defected governor Godwin Obaseki come August.
Note that Pastor Ize-Iyamu is standing trial alongside four others at the Federal High Court, Benin City.
According to the EFCC, Ize-Iyamu alongside others are been arraign in court for collecting money meant for the public and using them for elections, contrary to the provisions of the EFCC Act and the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act.
