ASUU STRIKE: FG threatens To Sue ASUU Over Lingering Strike
The federal government has threatened to sue the Academic Staff Union Of Universities, ASUU Over their refusal to end the 7months strike.
The federal government through the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige issued this threat yesterday after the 3-hour meeting with ASUU stakeholders ended in a deadlock.
ASUU had insisted that nothing new was initiated by the federal government following the 3-hrs meeting with the Minister of labour and employment.
Meanwhile in an interview with newsmen, the Labour Minister said government may be forced to file a legal case against the union adding that ASUU is being stubborn over the situation.
“The law permits the federal government to take the union to the National Arbitration Panel and even the National Industrial Court.” he said.
