BREAKING!!! Ghana Government Sets To Deports 54 Nigerians
Not less than 54 Nigerian has been arrested and currently awaiting deportation for illegal entry into the Republic of Ghana.
This was revealed by The Ghana Immigration Service Commander, Frederick Baah Duodu.
According to the Immigration Commander, the 54 Nigerians were apprehended at various unapproved routes within the last ten days and detained at the GIS arrival hall, Aflao Ghana.
The sector said it has commenced processes to deport the immigrants back to Nigeria as some three officials from the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana led by one Daniel Tonibor were at Aflao to ascertain the arrest and condition of their compatriots in custody.
Mr. Duodu also said that the detained immigrants may spend more time in custody to complete the processes for a successful deportation exercise.
In his words:
“The Nigerian officials in the country will have to activate processes to get an approval letter from the Togo and Benin Embassies. Of course, they will need to visit Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Ministry to undergo some procedures to acquire laissez-passer for their citizenry.” He said.
The Sector Commander further noted that the illegal immigrant has been tested for COVID-19 to ascertain their health conditions.
“Besides, the suspects had undergone port health screening processes with their samples taken for COVID-19 test, which results are yet to arrive”
