FG Gives Definite Date For School Resumption Across The Country

The Federal Government of Nigeria has on Thursday released an official date for school resumption, IssuesNG learnt.

Barely 72 hours after the secretary General of the Federation and the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha made known that Nigerian schools are not reopening “for now” during the announcement of the second phase of easing lockdown across the country, the PTF chairman has also made some last minutes changes on Thursday stating that school across the country would be reopening in phases as from JULY 13 2020.

PTF chairman, Boss Mustapha who made this announcement during a daily COVID-19 briefing in Abuja, explained that the new changes made is to enable university final year students, SSCE candidates, and Primary Six students take their next LEVEL exams.

Quoting Mustapha:

“This decision is due a welcome development as these people that fall under this category will be able to take their exams so as to take a step ahead. It’s barely two days since the second phase of the lockdown ended.”

He also noted that apart from the under listed categories of students, no other institution is expected to reopen as several consultation are being made to ensure safe reopening of all schools.
