Finally Buhari Pays Non-IPPIS ASUU Lecture’s Salary
The President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari ordered the immediate payments of withheld salaries of some university lecturers who are not enrolled in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) stipulated by the Federal Government.
Recall that the FG withheld salaries owed to son university lecturers who has refused to enrol in the IPPIS mapped out by the government.
However, the seizure of this salaries by the Federal Government has caused a more harm than good as this lecturers under the leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, went on an indefinite strike.
Therefore the President gave an approved order after a meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige yesterday in Abuja to release these salaries.
The Secretary to the Government also Chairman of The Presidential Task Force, Mr Boss Mustapha who confirmed this report on a briefing on COVID-19 updates on Wednesday said that the approval was in line with measures put in place by the FG to see that no one is leftout of advantage during this trying time.
