I Will Built A 20th Century Economy For Nigeria If Elected President – Orji Uzor Kalu
The Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzo Kalu, in an interview, said that he would build a 20th-century economy Nigeria if elected president 2023.
Recall that Orji Uzor Kalu has been hosting campaigns for presidency come 2023 as Clamour for Igbo Presidency heightens.
The Senator in an interview at a radio station in Umuahia, capital of Abia State where he served as governor from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007, said he is capable to revert the Nigeria’s economy to its previous standard as it was in the 20th century.
In his words as quoted by The Sun Newspaper:
“Yes, if you give me the presidency, why not, I will take. I am capable of doing the job.
“The problem is who is capable of doing the job. For now, I am focusing on my constituency; there is a lot of job to be done.
“If you give me an opportunity, I will like to go back to the Senate for a second term, but if the people of Nigeria want me to be president, they will show the hand. I can do the job. I can build a 20th-century economy for our people.”
Also recall that Kalu was convicted in December 2019 for laundering N7.1bn Abia state Public funds but was released in June 2020 after spending 5 months behind bars.
