International Flights: FG Extends Resumption Date, See New Date

The Federal Government through The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has on Thursday announced that the resumption of international flights has now been extended.

Recall that the date for flight resumption was earlier scheduled for August 29.

The Director-General of the NCAA, Musa Shuaibu Nuhu, revealed the new development during a COVID-19 briefing by the Presidential Task Force in Abuja.

The DG noted that the airlines and airports were ready for operation, but other non-aviation logistics had prompted the one-week extension to September 5.

“We have other non-aviation logistics we are still working on, mostly the COVID-19 protocol tests and online platform,” he said. “We need to get this ready.”

While stating that September 5 was unbiased, Mr Nuhu also noted that protocols to be observes before resumption will be communicated to the general public earlier before the week of resumption.

“In due course, we will be announcing the protocols for the resumptions and we will be giving further details,” he said. “Hopefully early next week, we will release this.” he said.

Note that Nigeria has resumed domestic flights.
