LOCKDOWN: Wike Demolishes 2 Hotels In Rivers State, Says He’s Set To Do More
The Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has on Sunday 10 May, 2020 supervised the demolition of two hotels in the state for allegedly violating the COVID-19 LOCKDOWN ORDER declared by the state government.
Recall that the Rivers state government extended its LOCKDOWN indefinitely despite the presidential order to ease Lockdown across the country.
IssuesNG gathered that the Rivers state Governor personally supervised the total demolition of the hotels structures.
The two hotels affected are Prodest Hotel and Etemeteh Hotel all in Eleme Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor took this action because most COVID-19 cases recorded in the state according to statistics were traced to a hotel.
The Governor also warned that anybody who do not comply with the directives put in place to curtail the spread of Coronavirus(COVID-19) or found wanting by the Local Government Task Force set-up by him will as well face similar consequences.
