Religious Freedom: US Blacklists Nigeria
Following the killings of Christians in the North, the United States of America has blacklisted Nigeria on allegations of clamping down on it citizens freedom of religion as enshrined in the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998.
Mike Pompeo, US Secretary of State revealed this in a tweet yesterday.
According to his tweet, China, Eritrea, Iran, Burma, Tajikistan, Pakistan, DPRK were also among the blacklisted nations.
He further noted that “The U.S. is unwavering in its commitment to religious freedom. No country or entity should be allowed to persecute people with impunity because of their beliefs. These annual designations show that when religious freedom is attacked, we will act” he tweeted
