Security Is Everybody’s Duty, Not Only Buhari -Presidency
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said that the security situation of the country is not only meant for the President Muhammadu Buhari to handle.
Adesina, made this utterance yesterday while speaking during an interview on ‘Politics Today’ with Channels Television.
According to him, the security architecture of the country is every citizens responsibility and not a specific duty left for the President.
“Everybody is part of the security architecture in the country. It is just that the responsibility weighs heavier on one person or the other, but we all are part of it” He said.
Further speaking, Adesina, said the President is aware of his primary duty to protect and provide security for his citizens which he had pledged to, but not withstanding, every citizens has his/her own part to play.
“We will see better security in this country, that is what the President is telling the country,” Adesina said.
“No President expects the citizens of his country to be abducted, kidnapped or killed. President Buhari is determined to step up the war against insecurity.”
“If we shouldn’t have the mind-set that everything about security is the duty of the President that can only be wrong. Yes, the President has the responsibility to guarantee safety of lives and properties.” he said.
